Thank you for all the lovely comments!
My blogging is coming along slowly....
I want to add links and offer some FREE patterns in the form of PDF files, but after searching around and trying to figure it out I still don't have a clue!
Also, I still have to get my button links working....
Can anyone offer help/guidance/link to a tutorial????
Thanks very much!
snogs,
Heather xxxx

I'm really no good at that kind of stuff, but it was so good to see you Tuesday night!
To do pdf patterns you need a pdf writer (cutepdf is free and compatible with adobe). Then you need to upload them to a file hosting service (sort of like photobucket) and then link to them on your blog.
As for button links - upload the buttons to photobucket/imageshack etc and then use the code
(a href="link to website")(img src="link to image")(/a)
You need to replace the ( ) with < >
Hope that helps. I'll pass on the snog ;)
Thank you!!!
Unfortunately, that programme only works on a PC, (as far as I can gather), Anyone know how to do this with a mac?
You are a pain in the arse ;) and a computing deviant.
Apparently with a mac you can save any document as a pdf. Load the file you wish to convert to pdf - select file - print - save as pdf - give it a name - save. Then you need to find a file hosting service
I don't know if that will work, but it must be worth a try and is compatible with adobe etc (apparently).
waaaaarrrrgghhhhh!
I messed up my Sexy Knitters Club button!!
Why am I so rubbish at this???
I'll go and sit in the corner and put the dunce hat on pronto :o(
I can help!!
I downloaded a programme called Open Office, and you can use their word-type document to make your pattern, putting in all your pics and stuff, and then export it as a pdf - it's v v simple, but I'm afraid I have no idea if it works on a mac. You should googe open office and see though, since it's such an easy way to make pdfs. And then just upload the pdf and link to it, so it automatically opens when people click - hoorah!
Hey Doofus McDoof- yes, it is I, your helpful Mac assistant. Okay- on your 'puter you should have an application called "Adobe Professional 6.0". (I say this because I think I GAVE it to you and /or installed it on the work Mac. Check there as well.) Open that and you can create a PDF out of anything you want! In fact, as soon as you open it the "how to" instructions should open that say "how to creat a PDF..."
After that, it's just a matter of (I think) uploading them to your happy local web server (I would suggest using your Army of Knitters website as the host since you probably have space) and then linking THAT to your blog.
Capisch??
Let me know if it works!
-you know who
Snogs all round to my helpful commentors!
I had already made a pattern into a PDF, (wrote it in word, then saved it as a PDF at the print option stage), it's the -getting it linked to my blog- bit that I'm having problems with......I know, I'm a moron!
I'll have a go when I've got some time, (like, at work while the boss is away - hoorah!!)
In the meantime, I'm going to have a go at trying to link all the buttons I've collected - wish me luck!!
Oh, and McExpert, I may be paying you a visit soon ;o)
