2 minutes of fame

Finally, a post with some knitting content!

I'm working on a version of the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. This is the first pattern I'm attempting from this book and I'm making a few changes:
1. Love the hem idea, I've put a little picot in mine.
2. Added a touch of lace with a simple yarn over stitch.
3. Adapted the increases and decreases so that they are easier to work.
Yarn is Misti Pima Cotton Silk in an orangey shade of red. Feels lovely but sheds like a bugger! I'm covered in red fuzz!

Completed the body up to the armholes and half the first sleeve, as shown here:

In other news....If you get Womenswear Daily, look thoroughly through it next Tuesday as there'll be a piece about knitting in it. I was just interviewed for the article, so hopefully I won't come across as a complete idiot!!

Happy August!!!

Hey Heather -

I'm really curious how the article will turn out! Do you think we'll get to see a copy at some point? I don't know anyone who gets WWD here in Calgary.

Congrats on being in the magazine Heather, that's very exciting! You'll be famous! Also I like the red sleeve, picots are a fav of mine.

You always make everything so purty! Hey where is that oh so simple tank top pattern, Samantha needs some summer wear before summer is over!

did the WWD story ever run? Their website seems to be subscription only.
