Outdoors

With the air conditioning on the blink this summer, we had no choice but to spend a lot of time outdoors.
We tried out our green fingers on a few potted plants.  It was fun to watch their progress and even better to eat the fruits of our labours!
There were three types of tomatoes, which went beautifully with the basil.

Courgettes, (zucchini),
and cute little cucumbers.

We also grew parsley, mint and rosemary - all delicious.  They tasted even better cooked over the fire on camping trips!
The latest trip to the Catskills was more leisurely than usual.  The fella hurt his knee so our hiking time was spent drinking and playing cards instead - hehe!

We found a lovely campsite near Phoenicia where Lucky got in some good swimming.

After a good meal,

the spoilt princess even had her own tent to sleep in!
Any trip we make now to the Catskills has to include a stop in Tannesville for pancakes at Maggie's Krooked Cafe - well worth the trip!
On the way home we stopped to take a closer look at the world's largest garden gnome

It's the one with the pointy hat.
