After sputtering up the hills, (hence her new name), she broke down in the Catskills and has been sitting in the driveway, waiting patiently for a friendly mechanic to fix her! I have been told to accept this as it is bound to happen to a vehicle that is almost as old as it's owner!
Fingers crossed, she will pass her inspection today and we will be able to go camping!
In the meantime I've been buying tonnes of tools, spare parts and camping gear - it's been a full time job!
Last week I played host to my first guests here - Valda's mother was over visiting from England so the three of them, (including Annabel), came down to stay with me for a refreshing change! We had a lovely time playing in the "fun-house". Annabel was delighted to be able to play on the indoor swings!
Here she is enjoying the fruits of early summer:
We all took a trip to the Storm King Sculpture Park on a gorgeous warm day.
How many of the artists can you recognize?
This one made a rumbling thunder sound when hit with the mallets provided!
It was fab to see a work by one of my favorite artists, Andy Goldsworthy. I'm in love with his use of swirls, form and colours.
His dry stone wall weaves snakily through the trees and into a pond to emerge once again on the opposite bank.
To my mortification, an old lady yelled at me when I climbed onto the wall - I just wanted a better view for photographs!!
If you get the chance, I highly recommend watching "Rivers and Tides", a wonderful documentary about the work of Andy Goldsworthy. It's amazing to see what actually goes in to making his art work - he's a genius!!
Annabel had better luck than I by finding a work she could climb all over!
Dogs aren't allowed in the park so Lucky was treated to a dip in a nearby fountain. She loves to dive into the water - I've never seen a dog so happy to just dive and dive and dive!
"Not enough knitting content", I hear you yell! Well, sorry but I've been rather busy!
It's just more stripey socks. Easy to whip out whilst travelling!!
This one is modelled atop a bed of Heather-like fabric with which I am making curtains for Spud - She's going to be sooo cozy!!

Fabulous van! And socks too.
If I had to imagine you in a car, that would be the exact car...but maybe you should paint a few pink stripes/swirls/dots on it for good measure? You sound so happy, Heather! I miss you (and all the other SnB'rs, too...)
Yay bus! You're going to have a riot in there.
Goldsworthy did a 'taking a wall for a walk' for Grizedale Forest in the Lake District too.
Love those socks!
iT'S ALL SO CUTE!!!
